This program will teach you how to prepare properly for either a half or full Ironman triathlon. This holistic approach is based on our unique effortless exercise philosophy that emphasizes healthy progressive exercise that is easily sustainable over the long term. Schedules are provided and we test everyone's Lactate Threshold so we can determine your unique Effortless Training Zone and give you accurate heart rate training advice. We blend science and intuition into this program so you have the best opportunity for success and to stay injury free.
Program Goal: To complete either a Half or Full Ironman triathlon during the summer of 2012
Course Timetable: October 15, 2011 to August 27, 2012
Fee: $195 per month (first month - October is $95)
Program Includes: All course materials, the book Effortless Exercise, body composition and lactate threshold testing, the Saturday spin class and Sunday effortless run club, the Wednesday brick class, the summer open water swim program, and e-mail coaching support
Add Ons: Any additional group programs we offer can be added at 50% off and any swim programs at 25% off
Equipment: You'll need a heart rate monitor, bike and trainer
Location: Lakeview Baptist Church Gymnasium, 5336 Lakeview Drive SW, park in the rear. The runs are at various locations around Calgary and the spring/summer cycles are on the roads near Calgary
Theory Sessions: Bi-weekly from October to the end of April after the Saturday spin class there will be a formal theory session with topics ranging from nutrition to training and racing. We'll cover all the topics pertinent to triathlon and you'll leave the year with a binder full of information
